Harvest Day!

Our plants finally grew enough to harvest!  We picked our lettuce and enjoyed a healthy, yummy side with our lunch!

“I want more!” – Aiden

Field Day!

Today was Field Day!  We competed on different types of relays, such as Speed Relay, Sack Race, and Crab Relay.  We had so much fun!

STEM Friday + End-of-Year Picnic!

Finishing off our unit on forces and motion, students constructed their very own kites!  During our end-of-year class picnic, we flew the kites to see the physical forces required to keep the kites airborne.  The wind speed was only about 8 mph, so most of our kites did not last long in the air.  However,  we didn’t give up!

We had a great time during our class picnic!  So disappointing our vegetables didn’t grow enough for everyone to eat though 😦

Earth Day Craft

Each year on April 22nd, people all around the world celebrate Earth Day.  It is a day focused on promoting awareness, showing appreciation, and taking care of our environment.  After learning about this special day, students decorated a coffee filter as the earth and shared ways they could help the earth.

We colored, then we sprayed.

The result:

Final craftivity:

Some ways we can help the Earth:

Anaya M.: use reusable plates, refill plastic bottles, no littering

Alex: growing more trees each year, picking up trash, and using reusable stuff

Whitney: tell my family and friends to stop littering

Gabriel: reusing containers, recycling plastic bottles, and turning off lights when I’m not using them

Megan: recycle paper and water bottles

Ruby: use less electricity

Aiden: not cut down trees

Addison: use plates that you can use over and over again
